AN/ALQ-167 Jamming Pods
Introduction
The new generation of AN/ALQ-167 jamming pods developed by Rodale for NATO's Multiservice Electronic Warfare Support Group (MEWSG) represents the leading edge of Electronic Warfare (EW) technology. These compact and versatile pods are qualified on a wide variety of aircraft ranging from business jets to supersonic fighters.
Applications include ECCM training, radar test and evaluation as well as tactical self-protection, escort and stand-off jamming.
The AN/ALQ-167 pods cover the frequency range from C- Band to High J-Band. The jamming systems can also be configured for internal aircraft installation, for use on drone or RPV platforms and ground based applications.

- ECCM Training
- Train radar operators to identify different jamming modes, initiate ECCM modes and experience the difference in countermeasure effectiveness
- Train radar fire control operators to develop effective ECCM responses to counter different ECM techniques.
- Train fighter aircrew AI radar operators to identify different jamming modes and initiate effective ECCM and tactics.
- Provide jamming against both airborne and ground based AI radars and GCI radars during air intercept and simulated attack missions (including jamming combined with threat radar simulation).
- Train shipboard operators to identify inbound radar threats in the presence of jamming (dual jamming/radar simulator operation)
- Provide support and escort jamming during exercises and tactical missions combining simultaneous jamming, threat radar simulation and chaff.
- Jamming and/or threat radar simulation in combination with tow targets.
- Provide self protection jamming.
